Entrepreneur, Your Vision is Your Distinction

I believe we are in a pivotal time in Nigeria’s history and with the world embracing entrepreneurship like never before, now is the time for you as a Nigerian entrepreneur to become distinguished in your chosen field and in turn, fly the flag of excellence for Nigeria.

To become a distinguished entrepreneur and fly the flag for Nigeria, it is critical you begin to write, work and win with a five year vision, minimum. With 2016 fast approaching, it is your vision that would give you direction, focus, hope and ultimately distinguish you. The great entrepreneurs we respect, regard and recognize such as Tony Elumelu do have clear and defined vision which speaks for them even when they are silent and moves for them when they are still.

Many reading this might not know where their vision stems from but from my school of thought and message on distinction, I teach, ‘your vision is connected to your gifts, talents and passion’.

For many who have already started up with their vision, it is vital you begin to speak, share and skilfully sustain your vision on social media. With the global market now local, it is critical your distinction speaks from Lagos to Las Vegas, from London to Luxemburg and from Lebanon to Lithuania.

To make real impact and become a reference point of excellence in your village, town, city and country, your vision has to start up and grow with the future in mind.

When Henry Ford, the founder of Ford Motor Company gave birth to his vision of the Model T car, people in Europe had heard of his vision but there was no internet let alone social media. Yes, you may have issues with electricity in your town or city but more than 100 years later, Henry Ford’s great grandchildren are running with his vision. To become an entrepreneur of distinction will depend on how far you see, what you see and where you see your vision going.

Yes, there are many problems and obstacles in Nigeria but your distinction will be to see the countless possibilities and opportunities in becoming distinguished. As an entrepreneur, you need to serve people with your time, talent and treasure. Your vision should bring solutions to the everyday needs around you, first locally then globally.

A great man once said, “Show me your friends and I will show you your future”. It’s important you surround yourself with people who want to fly with you but are also flying ahead of you. The great entrepreneurs you respect, regard and recognize are great leaders who are greater learners.

Having a new business idea or being young shouldn’t stop you from becoming a distinguished entrepreneur. In fact, you should be part of this generation of young Nigerian entrepreneurs who are ready to bring a calculated, courageous and clear change to Nigeria that in turn will make our country a respected, recognized and regarded country on the global playing field.

Do you see the possibilities and opportunities in becoming distinguished? If yes, that means you are an entrepreneur. Who is an entrepreneur? An entrepreneur is a leader of excellence, trailblazer and pioneer who constantly brings change to their generation. ~ Onyi Anyado.
