OAU Ranked Best University In Nigeria



For the fourth year running, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, has been ranked the best Nigerian university.

In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the University, Mr Abiodun Olanrewaju, on Friday, he noted that this ranking was conducted by the Cybermetrics Lab of Spain which belongs to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas (CSIC) reputed to be the largest public research organization in the world

In a survey of over 100 universities in Nigeria OAU was acclaimed the best in the area of research, academic, administrative and community service. This according to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Bamitale Omole is due to the dedication and hard work of a highly qualified and capable faculty and staff of the university.

He further reiterated his focus and commitment to ensuring a consistent training and re-training programme for academic, administrative and technical staff of the university while urging the Federal Government to approve more funds so as to strengthen OAU's success story.

He added that he would not rest on his oars until Obafemi Awolowo University becomes the best in Africa, and one of the top ten in the world.
